김홍이/ Alexander Utt 기자=이재명 대통령은 12월 25일 가장 낮고 어두운 곳에서 태어나, 고통받고 아픈 이들과 평생을 함께하신 예수 그리스도를 떠올립니다. 그분의 삶이야말로 우리가 기억해야 할 진정한 성탄의 의미가 아닐까 생각한다고 말하고, 다가오는 새해, 국민 여러분 모두의 일상에 따뜻한 온기와 희망이 닿을 수 있도록 더욱 최선을 다하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

이어 이재명 대통령은 매년 돌아오는 날이지만 오늘만큼은 조금 더 행복하시길, 사랑하는 이들과 눈을 마주하고 웃으며 즐거운 시간을 보내시길 바란다고 말했습니다.

따라서 이 대통령은 누군가에게는 위로가 되고, 누군가에게는 쉼이 되며, 또 누군가에게는 내일을 살아갈 용기가 되는 귀한 성탄이길 두 손 모아 기도한다고 전했습니다.

President Lee Jae-myung's Christmas message translated into English for foreigners.

On December 25th, President Lee Jae-myung recalled Jesus Christ, who was born in the lowest and darkest of places and spent his entire life with those who suffered and were ill. He said that his life is the true meaning of Christmas that we should remember, and he pledged to do his utmost to ensure that warmth and hope reach the daily lives of all citizens in the coming New Year.

President Lee continued, "While this day comes every year, I hope you will be a little happier today, looking into your loved ones' eyes, smiling, and enjoying a joyful time."

Therefore, President Lee prayed with folded hands that this precious Christmas will bring comfort to some, rest to others, and courage to face tomorrow.
