[이재명 대통령과 김혜경 여사와 함께 UAE 아랍에미리트 아크부대 장병들과의 포토]
김홍이 기자=이재명 대통령과 김혜경 여사는 현지시간 11월 19일 먼 이역만리 UAE에서 국가의 부름을 받아 임무를 수행하고 있는 아크부대 장병들을 찾아 감사를 전했습니다. 해외에 파병된 우리 부대를 현지에서 만나는 것은 처음이라 더욱 뜻깊었다고 말했습니다.
이어서 이 대통령은 세계와 중동 지역의 평화를 수호하며 대한민국의 위상을 높이고 있는 우리 부대원들이 참 자랑스럽습니다. 장병 모두가 '군사 외교관'이라는 자부심을 갖고 임해주길 당부했다고 말했습니다.
따라서 이 대통령은 부디 건강을 잘 챙기며, 맡은 소임을 완수하고 무사히 귀국할 것을 믿습니다. 대한민국 국민을 대표해 다시 한번 힘찬 응원을 보낸다고 거듭 밝혔습니다.
President Lee Jae-myung & First Lady Kim Hye-kyeong visited the Akh Unit soldiers in the faraway UAE on November 19th (local time) to express their gratitude for their nation's mission. They said it was especially meaningful to meet with our troops deployed overseas, as it was their first time there.
President Lee continued, "I am truly proud of our troops who are protecting peace in the world and the Middle East and elevating the prestige of the Republic of Korea. I urge all soldiers to take pride in their role as 'military diplomats.'"
Therefore, President Lee reiterated his strong support for them, saying, "I trust you will take good care of your health, fulfill your duties, and return safely. On behalf of the Korean people, I once again send you my enthusiastic support."
