외교부와 법무부, 그리고 관련 기업은 미국 조지아 주에서 구금되었다가 귀국한 우리 국민 316명을 대상으로 체포 및 연행, 구금 과정에서 발생한 상황을 상세히 파악하기 위한 설문조사를 9.22.(월)부터 실시한다.
설문조사는 우선 9.29.(월)까지 1주일간(필요시 연장 가능) 문자메시지 또는 이메일로 각 개인에게 전송된 링크를 통해 접속하여 참여할 수 있으며, 설문조사 종료 후 희망자에 대해서는 추가로 개별 면담도 진행될 계획이다.
정부는 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 우리 국민이 구금 환경 및 처우 측면에서 겪은 어려움과 피해를 정확히 파악‧분석하고, 필요시 미국 측에도 결과를 공유하며 문제를 제기할 계획이다.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, and related companies will conduct a survey starting Monday, September 22nd, targeting 316 Korean nationals who were detained in the US state of Georgia and subsequently returned to Korea. This survey will provide a detailed understanding of the circumstances surrounding their arrest, detention, and detention.
The survey will be open for one week, ending Monday, September 29th (with a possibility of extension if necessary). Participants can access the survey via a link sent to each individual via text message or email. Individual interviews will also be held for those who wish to participate after the survey is completed.
Based on the survey results, the government plans to accurately identify and analyze the difficulties and harms Korean nationals experienced in terms of detention conditions and treatment. If necessary, the government will share the results with the US government and raise the issue.
Therefore, a survey on the situation of illegal American English instructors in Korea will be conducted.
