In response to the Korean detention situation, which occurred on the 11th of Woo Won-sik, we sent a letter to major federal federal figures, including the US vice pres. of David Vance & the Chairman of the Federal Senate, the chairman of the Mike Johnson Federal House, and the chairman of the relevant committee.

In addition, as part of the institutional foundation for the prevention of recurrence of similar cases and expanding investment in the US, he also requested specific follow-up measures such as the establishment of a visa quota for Korean professionals. With this incident, we confirmed that the actual system improvement is urgently needed for the restoration of trust between the two countries and sustainable cooperation.

Therefore, Woo said that the Nat'l Assembly will play a role for continuous communication and cooperation between the US and US councils.

Thank you for your efforts for the development of friendly cooperation between the two countries. On September 4, 2025, I would like to politely request the interests and cooperation of the US Congress in relation to the immigration joint crackdown in the joint battery factory of Hyundai Motor Group-LG Energy Solution.

 

As the largest investor in the United States and a contributor to job creation in the United States, it should never be infringement of Korean companies' economic activities and the interests of Koreans.

 

Especially in Georgia, Korean companies such as Hyundai Motor, SK, LG Energy Solutions, Kia, and Hanwha Q CELLS are investing billions of dollars to lead local job creation and economic revitalization.

 

Nevertheless, the shock and anger of our people felt as it was conveyed through the media that Korean workers were tied up in chains in this crackdown.

 

 I'm very concerned that this event has created a national feelings that can negatively affect the traditional alliance between the US, such as the reduction of the demand for investment in US companies and the decline in human exchanges.

 

In consideration of Korea's contribution to the development of the US economy and industrial development and friendship between the two countries, the chairman of the Chairman would like to pay special attention so that our people can be treated fairly and treated fairly.

 

One of the fundamental causes of this case is that the appropriate visa system was not completed when a Korean company dispatched the skilled professional manpower for the construction of a local factory in the US.

 

In order to prevent the recurrence of similar cases in the future, and to expand investment in the US in legal and transparent ways, Korean companies are urgently established.

 

Therefore, the US Congress also asks you to actively review and support the establishment of a visa quarter for Korean professionals.

 

The two countries have maintained blood alliance for the past 70 years and have established close cooperation in a wide range of fields such as politics, economy and security. We hope that we will continue to deepen our cooperation between the two countries and create an investment environment that guarantees legal stability and predictability.

 

I am convinced that ultimately, the prosperity and interests of both countries. We will once again ask for in -depth discussions and active cooperation at the parliamentary level, and we expect to continue to communicate and cooperate between the two countries.
