Reporter/Kim Hong-e/Alexander Utt.= Former US President Barack Obama directly criticized aging leaders at a global leadership event in London. He bluntly stated, "80% of the world's problems are due to old leaders who refuse to relinquish power."

"They are afraid of death and meaninglessness, so they cling to their positions," Obama said, pointing out that this obsession is preventing the emergence of a new generation. He argued that generational change is necessary for new ideas to emerge across politics and society.

이어 오바마 전 대통령은 “이들은 죽음과 무의미를 두려워하며 자리를 지키려 한다”며, 집착이 새로운 세대의 등장을 막고 있다고 지적했다. 따라서 세대 교체가 이뤄져야 정치·사회 전반에서 새로운 아이디어가 나올 수 있다는 것이 그의 주장했다.
