조현 외교부장관, 9.23.(화) 오후 유엔본부에서 중동 관련 안보리 브리핑을 의장으로 주재했습니다. 가자지구의 인도적 위기에 깊은 우려를 표하고 조속한 휴전과 인질 석방을 강조했습니다. 두 국가 해법이 이스라엘-팔레스타인 분쟁을 해결하고 지속 가능한 평화를 구축할 수 있는 유일한 길임을 강조하고, 한국이 두 국가 해법을 통해 역내 평화와 안정을 구축하려는 국제사회의 노력에 적극 동참할 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, On Sept. 23, I chaired a UNSC briefing on the Middle East. I expressed grave concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and called for an immediate ceasefire and the release of hostages. I emphasized that the two-state solution is the only viable path to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and achieve lasting peace. Korea will actively support internat'l efforts to advance peace & stability in the region.
