Haeundae-gu Mayor Hong Soon-heon will hold the 7th Haeundae Light Festival Haeundae, Light of Hope from the 15th to March 28th for the people suffering from COVID-19.
It was initially scheduled to be held from November 28 last year to February 14 this year, but it was temporarily suspended due to the spread of Corona 19. On the 15th, as the administrative order for COVID-19 social distancing in Busan was eased to 1.5 steps, it was decided to save local commercial districts that had fallen into stagnation & deliver comfort & hope with light to citizens exhausted from Corona.
It is held as a lighting event from 6:30 pm to 10 pm without outdoor performances and experience programs. However, the operating schedule & time may be adjusted according to the Corona 19 situation.
More than 60 people, including quarantine personnel and volunteers, are deployed to secure a social safety distance within the event venue & conduct activities to encourage wearing masks.
A QR code electronic access list, an automatic heat check system, and disinfectants are installed at the entrance of Gunam-ro Haeundae Plaza & the entrance to the white sandy beach of Haeundae Beach. The event venue is operated in a one-way manner to ensure a safe flow of visitors by controlling entry in the reverse direction. The white sandy beach walkway has expanded more than 1.5 times compared to the self-inflicted harm.
Mayor Hong Soon-heon said, After twists & turns, we will light up the light of hope today. We hope that it will help the local economy a little, and we will do our best to ensure that the event can proceed safely.
